Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 USB Audio Interface

Get Studio-Grade Sound Wherever You Record

Take professional-quality recording wherever inspiration leads with the Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 — a compact 2-in/4-out USB audio interface built by the same team behind Universal Audio’s renowned Apollo interfaces.

Volt 2 Gen 2 features Tone Shaping Preamps that let you add the warmth of vintage tubes, the clarity of solid-state circuitry, or the distinctive presence of British Class A consoles at the touch of a button — giving vocals and instruments rich, studio-ready character from the very first take.

Recording is made even easier with Auto-Gain, which automatically sets optimal input levels, while Clip Protection helps safeguard your recordings from unexpected peaks. The vibrant full-color Smart Display gives you clear, real-time visual feedback, so you can monitor your inputs and recording levels at a glance.

Powered directly via USB, Volt 2 Gen 2 works seamlessly with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone, making it equally at home in your studio, on your desktop, or as part of a mobile recording setup.

You’ll also receive a comprehensive collection of UAD plug-ins and virtual instruments, together with Universal Audio’s award-winning LUNA Digital Audio Workstation, giving you a complete creative toolkit for recording, producing, and mixing your music.

From capturing spontaneous ideas to producing polished, release-ready tracks, Volt 2 Gen 2 gives you professional sound, intuitive control, and powerful creative tools wherever you record.

Tone Shaping Preamps Bring Character to Every Take

Give every recording the character, depth, and detail it deserves. Volt 2 Gen 2’s dual Tone Shaping Preamps deliver up to 60 dB of gain, with three distinctive analog-inspired modes on each channel for shaping your sound at the touch of a button.

Warmth adds the rich, rounded character of a classic tube preamp. Focus delivers the clean definition and detail of a solid-state design. Shine brings an open, airy presence inspired by British Class A circuitry.

Independent 48V phantom power on each channel lets you connect your favorite condenser microphones with complete flexibility, while high-resolution 32-bit conversion at up to 192 kHz captures every detail and nuance of your performance.

Whether you’re recording vocals, guitars, keyboards, or two sources simultaneously, Volt 2 Gen 2 helps you capture full, polished, studio-ready sound from the very first take.

Auto-Gain and Clip Protection Keep Your Levels Just Right

Spend less time setting levels and more time capturing great performances. Volt 2 Gen 2’s Auto-Gain automatically sets your recording levels in seconds, while Clip Protection monitors unexpected peaks and helps prevent distortion from spoiling an otherwise perfect take.

The vibrant full-color Smart Display provides clear, at-a-glance feedback for your inputs, levels, and settings, making it easy to select channels, check levels, and confirm your Tone Shaping Preamp modes.

With two mic/line combo inputs and two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs, Volt 2 Gen 2 gives you the flexibility to record vocals and guitar together, capture a stereo keyboard, or connect a wide range of microphones and instruments.

Integration with UAD Console and LUNA adds even more control, including convenient session recall and low-latency cue mixes.

With essential recording controls always close at hand, Volt 2 Gen 2 keeps the technical setup simple — so you can stay focused on the music.

Record, stream, and mix anywhere

Because Volt 2 draws its power from USB, you can set up a session wherever inspiration strikes: just connect your laptop, tablet, or phone and start tracking. Volt 2 works with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone, and it plays nicely with any major DAW. Built-in loopback also lets you blend live mics with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams, and video calls, a real boon for content creators. Moreover, the included UAD Volt Studio bundle provides top-notch instrument, effects, and utility plugins like the Teletronix LA-2A, the 1176 Classic FET Compressor, Pure Plate Reverb, Galaxy Tape Echo, and a pair of UAD guitar amps, alongside LUNA and third-party extras such as Melodyne Essential. For a complete mobile studio in a single box, the Volt 2 Gen 2 is tough to top.
