Tech Talk

The SC3070 combines EVE Audio’s proprietary Air Motion Transformer RS3.1 with a specially designed 4″ midrange driver to deliver highly accurate, natural, and fatigue-free reproduction of high and mid frequencies. A 7″ woofer completes the system, providing precise, powerful, and controlled low-end performance.

Both the bass and midrange drivers feature EVE Audio’s signature SilverCone technology, proven in top studios worldwide. Built with a low-distortion copper-cap magnet system, these drivers minimize distortion while the fiberglass-coated membranes, reinforced with a stable honeycomb structure, ensure true-to-source tonal accuracy across the frequency spectrum.

DSP and SMART-Knob

Every EVE Audio monitor features high-resolution DSP electronics for precise, reliable performance. Incoming analog signals—via RCA or XLR—are converted with a 24-bit/192 kHz BurrBrown ADC, ensuring pristine audio quality. The DSP provides latency-free filtering while safeguarding tweeters and woofers across the full frequency range. When powered on, the monitor’s volume gradually rises, giving you time to adjust the source level if needed.

Acoustic adjustments are effortless thanks to the front-mounted SMART-knob with a rotating LED ring. This intuitive encoder lets you control system volume and fine-tune room-dependent filters, including low-shelf, mid EQ, and high-shelf adjustments. The LED ring clearly displays all settings, and its brightness can be customized for dark studios or video production environments.

High-efficiency Class D amplifiers complete the system, delivering ample power to meet the demands of modern music production. For added control, selected volume and filter settings can be locked via rear DIP switches, preventing accidental or unauthorized changes.

The Air Motion Transformer

EVE Audio tweeters are built on advanced ribbon technology, and they have reinvented thier own signature Air Motion Transformer (AMT) — a hallmark of our speakers’ renowned clarity and detail.

How the Air Motion Transformer Works

The AMT is a unique driver design, unlike conventional audio drivers. It features a lightweight, hand-folded diaphragm coated with a thin layer of aluminum. The audio signal flows through these conductive folds, which sit within a strong magnetic field.

As the current moves, the Lorentz force causes the diaphragm folds to move in opposition to each other. This action compresses and releases the air between folds at a 1:4 ratio — far more efficient than the 1:1 movement of standard dome tweeters.

The result is exceptional resolution, dynamic response, and ultra-low distortion, delivering remarkable clarity, precise detail, and lifelike sound reproduction.
