ATC’s latest studio monitors feature the brand’s renowned, hand-built drive units, crafted in its UK facility. At the core is the newly developed SH-25-76S 25mm soft dome tweeter — ATC’s first in-house design, the result of six years of research by Managing Director Billy Woodman and R&D Engineer Richard Newman.

“The tweeter follows ATC’s no-compromise philosophy,” says Newman. “Its dual-suspension design eliminates the need for Ferro-fluid, ensuring long-term consistency.” A powerful neodymium motor and heat-treated top plate extend the frequency response (-6dB @ 26kHz) while minimising distortion. The precision-machined alloy waveguide optimises dispersion and prevents resonances.

For bass and midrange, both models use ATC’s proprietary 150mm Super Linear driver. Featuring a robust 75mm voice coil and a short-coil, long-gap topology, it combines high power handling with the resolution of modern hi-fi systems. ATC’s Super Linear technology reduces third-harmonic distortion, enhancing clarity in the lower midrange.

The active model benefits from refined electronics, reducing noise and distortion (-10dB @ 10kHz) while improving reliability. A revised MOSFET Class A/B amplifier delivers 200W to the bass driver and 50W to the tweeter. User controls now offer greater flexibility, including improved input sensitivity and a refined low-frequency shelf control for better room integration. Built-in protection circuits guard against DC offset and thermal overload.

The cabinet design mirrors ATC’s larger professional monitors, with heavily braced MDF construction and damped elastomeric panels to suppress resonances. A radiused front panel minimizes diffraction, enhancing frequency response and imaging.
